Hello and welcome to our new podcast!
If this is your first time hearing about us, then allow us to introduce ourselves:
Anurag Papolu is a journalist and digital artist from Hyderabad, India. Most of his work involves speaking to very smart scholars at the top of their fields and then making videos explaining these things. His work has appeared in The Conversation, The Washington Post, Quartz, and Live Science. He currently lives in Brooklyn NY, and most of the music he listens to is in languages he doesn’t understand.
Christina Li has been working in media since 2018, mostly in video journalism as an editor and sometimes producer/cameraperson (for places like HuffPost and TIME). Before that, she used to work in public health. She’s Chinese-American and spent her formative years growing up in Kansas. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY, and she has promptly killed every plant she has ever owned (RIP Juniper, Rita, Dolly 1, & Dolly 2.)
We’ll be covering all sorts of topics on this podcast, always with a curious mind and outside of the typical Western framework. Some examples of topics we like to think about and that may find its way into a podcast episode: surveillance systems, infrastructure for the climate crisis, how science fiction can help us imagine a better future, the rise of therapy, vaccine diplomacy, the international influence of Bollywood, K-pop, etc., the role of child activists in social movements, and more.
